Dear readers and friends, some years ago I sent poor MC into a wall of doom and concluded serialization of “Queen of Swans”. I have had a long time off from this series and serialization. To be quite honest, serialization while working a job and running small business and playing games is not really possible. I admire some of my old cohort who apparently write full time thanks to their Patreon supporters for maintaining their long streak. But for me, I’ve had a good time with life as well as a bad time with life which I have partly captured at https://swannlodge.com .
I think it was last fall or summer I met up with one of my long-time readers and handed them the below copy of everything so far minus that draft ending. The reason is that I was starting to edit this with a mind to trim and cut anything that I felt could bring the book down to a printable size and would not be needed in the next volume. This book may emerge slightly different from what you have read simply because I wanted to undo anything that would directly interfere with my goal for Book 3, which is the story of one of our elven heroes.
The good news — I scratched out several pages in January and then did another edit end of last month. For those who aren’t aware, I am in the middle of an unplanned and forced career transition. I expect to have time to work hard on this story this month and such. The ending you all get will be a “non-ending” in that it is really meant to put us all in a place to begin the next book. After thinking about it, if I know people are still here, I’ll post the additional chapter here for a time. But my goal isto eventually try to make this project somewhat self-paying (covering hosting/ moving to easier updating) and that may include going to a hybrid Patreon type model . For now, otherwise enjoy.
As for the future – serializing is very hard to consider should I go back to school, begin working again. Be patient with me and please keep checking in on my new social at Bluesky and (should something go silent/down on this site) at swannlodge dot com 🙂
